The Nature of the Argument

Blog Post #2

Arguments are a complex thing that we go through everyday of our lives. Even if it's not a verbal confrontation with another person, we have disputes that go through our head pulling us to one side or the other. A big question is why do we argue begin with, which can be an argument in itself. I believe arguments are inevitable. No one, no matter how similar they're raised, will think about things the same way, so arguments will come up as long as people try to co-exist. However, their are good ways to argue and bad ways to argue. Many people perceive any disagreement as an argument, when in reality a good argument uses evidence to justify their point of view. Bad arguments don't rely on facts and therefore are difficult to settle. When approaching a sensitive issue, which comes up a lot in today's political climate, we must keep this knowledge in mind, and realize that even though we may disagree, we can kindly argue and debate each other's point of views if we handle it the right way.
